This article will go over what MFA is and why it is so imporant
Multi-Factor Authentication
When you contact us or login to the Superloop Member’s area, you may be prompted to provide a one-time verification code, in addition to our usual ID check or login details. This is a process called Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), which has been introduced to strengthen the security of your account.
MFA allows us to 'double-check' that you’re really the person you’re claiming to be when you contact us or login to your account.
MFA at Superloop means using a combination of account or personal information, along with a one-time verification code sent by SMS or email to the account holder or an authorised representative.
How does MFA protect me?
MFA provides an additional layer of security when contacting us or using the Superloop members area. This helps to prevent someone accessing your information or making changes to your account without your permission.
1st factor - Something you know
When accessing your account, your login and password are the first-factor or first layer of authentication used to confirm your identity. When contacting us, our usual ID check process provides this first layer of verification
2nd factor – Something you have
The second-factor is an additional authentication layer. A one-time code is sent to your registered mobile phone or email address, to provide an enhanced layer of security. This is requested when you login to the Superloop members area and may be requested when you contact us.
Why is it important?
MFA provides you enhanced security as it makes it harder for someone else to access your account. If someone had access to your username and password, they wouldn’t be able to access your account without your one-time code.
What do I need to do?
Ensure that your mobile number and email registered with Superloop is accurate. You can do this by logging into the members area.
If you believe you have been a victim of fraud, you should contact your financial institution immediately.
