Bring your own (BYO) router
This article will detail what's required so that you can use your own router on your Superloop Service
Key points
- Being able to use your own router for your Superloop service will depend on the type of internet
- Different connection types will require different different hardware
- Your own router or modem/router will need to not be locked to your current or previous internet provided
Using your own router or modem/router for your Superloop service
NBN
FttP/HFC/FttC
For Fiber to the Premises, Hybrid Fibre Co-Axial and Fiber to the Curb Services, all you will require is an Etherent WAN Wireless Router. Any Ethernet WAN Wireless Router from a retail store should be compatible with our service, provided it can be configured for Dynamic IP (IPoE)
If you are intend on using a router supplied by a previous ISP, you will need to ensure that it is not locked to that ISP.
FttN/FttB
For Fibre to the Node and Fibre to the Building Services, all you will require is a VDSL2 Compatible Modem/Router. Any VDSL2 Modem/Router from a retail store should be compatible with our service, provided it can be configured for Dynamic IP (IPoE)
If you intend on using a modem/router supplied by a previous ISP, you will need to ensure that it is not locked to that ISP.
Fixed Wireless
For our Fixed Wireless service, an Ethernet WAN Wireless Router is all that is required. Any Ethernet WAN Wireless Router from a retail store should be compatible with our service, provided it can be configured for PPPoE (using a username/password to connect)
If you intend on using a router supplied by a previous ISP, you will need to ensure that it is not locked to that ISP.
