New Development Applications Explained
The New Developments Application is required by NBN Co when a property is being developed. This is to get the address registered into their system and to organise some pre-work to be done ready for the residential installation once the build is complete.
- nbn™ New Developments Application
- This process must be completed before Superloop can raise an nbn™ order request against an address
- nbn™ Fees and Charges for the New Developments Application are charged directly to the developer by NBN Co and are not to be confused with the $300 nbn™ New Development Fee (NDF) which is charged separately.
nbn™ New Developments Application
If you are developing a new property (such as building a house), you will need to ensure that you, your developer, or your builder completes the nbn™ New Developments Application.
This process is required by NBN Co in order to assign your property a Location ID (LOCID). Without a LOCID assigned to your property, we are unable to place an order with NBN Co.
There will be some nbn™ pre-work completed during the development process, and once the build is complete and there is a LOCID assigned to your address, we can raise an order request with NBN Co who will assign a final field technician to complete the installation process.
There are some fees and charges associated with the nbn™ New Development Application that NBN Co charges directly to the developer during the build process. These fees and charges are not the same as the $300 nbn™ New Development Fee which is charged to the nbn™ RSP (Retail Service Provider; such as Superloop), when a service in an nbn™ New Development Area is activated for the first time (The RSP will typically forward this charge to the customer requesting the nbn™ service).
